Although I am an un-trained, self-taught artist; many influences in my life have shaped this outcome.
My Parents were European, Hungarian, who immigrated to the United States after WWII. Along with my Grandparents they settled in the South during the Textile Boom of the Early 1960’s. My family carried with them a great love for the arts in all its forms. My father, however, particularly loved the Abstracts; most notably Picasso and Chagall. Of those he garnered many fine lithographs. As a child I took in these images and was instantly drawn to the shapes and faces, Seemingly out of place, yet making perfect sense once you understood the history of the Artist. The colors, in particular, were a favorite. This is what I like to incorporate in my pottery.
