Every item is made one at a time by Craig Carey. There are no pre-bought patterns or items, save the hardware and mirror, and all ideas are their own. Craig starts with raw materials, such as willow from the edges of ponds for mirrors and signs, and lumber from anywhere that he can find it, and carves or cuts everything by hand. Then all items are sanded, primed and painted or stained. The stained items then get multiple coats of lacquer for a deep shine.
If the work looks familiar, you may have seen it in Neiman-Marcus, Better Homes and Gardens, House Beautiful, Metropolitan Home, etc.
Willow Lamp is a handmade, stained wood lamp with real willow branches and stained wood leaves. Each side gets a hand carved bird in different colors. Handmade paper shade is stenciled with a leaf motif. Measures a total of 27" from top to bottom (including shade). Base is 8" x 8" at the bottom. Sides of the lamp are 5" deep. This is one of Craig's original style lamps. It is sold as is. There was an accident on the floor where a twig was broken. We've glued it back together. Additionally, there is a small dent in the handpainted shade. It will not be noticed when on the base if the shade is rotated so the ding is at the back. The birds on the new lamps have unpainted tin wings and tails. They are positioned toward the top of the lamp as opposed the the bottom. New lamps are $390. We have priced this one to reflect the "character flaws".
