Kirwin Barred Dog WP1217 SOLD

This piece by DM Kirwin is interesting. The background is created in the maze like pattern associated with a lot of his work. Then, he cut out a dog from wood, painted and applied it over the background. The "bars" are painted wood and the frame is assembled to keep it all together. As with a lot of outsider art, the wood is found and not perfectly matched. The piece measures 12" wide, 18" tall and 1.75" deep.
