Danette Sperry

Danette Sperry is an outsider/self-taught folk artist living in Maysville GA, a small southern town with her husband (fellow folk artist, John Sperry).  They both love primitive antiques, mid century modern,  industrial, pottery, folk art, birds and music!  

In 2015 Danette began concentrating 2d relief folk art paintings.  These are Mixed Media 2D relief paintings on wood using a special technique she developed. Each piece incorporates incredible attention to detail bringing out the personality of her subjects. The entire process of building the wooden structure, applying & carving the textural elements and painting the images can take up to several months, but for Danette, it’s a labor of love.
