Daniel Bollinger

My pottery inspiration is rooted in the southeastern tradition of folk pottery. My process begins with an idea, turning the vessel, and then applying whatever face or decoration to the pot I feel fits the overall shape and my mood at the time. 

Folk pottery to me is about the traditional way. I thank Ben North, Stanley Ferguson, Marty and Mary Adams, Stephen Harrison, Mike Craven, and countless others who have lent inspiration and provided guidance. The old traditions of pottery making are vital to carrying on a tradition that is evolving.
