I was born and raised in Massachusetts where I lived until retiring to South Florida. I have loved pottery all my life and collected functional pieces, mostly large bowls. My dream was to learn the skill of throwing pottery someday.
For 20+ years, I was a quilt designer, working specifically with hand-dyed wool (which I dyed myself). Finally, in 2019, I bought my first crude pottery wheel and a used kiln. After a couple of local classes to learn some basics, I taught myself everything else from there. Some of my work is thrown on the wheel and then hand sculpted, while other pieces are completely built by hand. Almost everything has a face.
