Dwayne Crocker 10" Birthday Face Jug DP2290 on loan to museum

Dwayne Crocker strives to follow the generations old traditions characteristic of Southern folk art pottery starting from the ground up. He uses Georgia red clay, mixes glazes, and strains ashes for his glazes. He uses time honored methods, concepts, tools (a straw and a nail) and designs, just as the old timers before him.

This is a birthday jug, meaning Dwayne created it on his birthday. 10" tall. I found the colors to show best when photographed outside in natural light. 

This piece is currently on loan to Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia until May 2024
