Along with a small, but growing number of potters who have been influenced by Burlon and the Catawba Valley tradition, I manipulate local clay bodies, woodfire in a groundhog kiln, and predominantly use a homemade alkaline glaze. I typically make traditional, functional forms such as jugs, jars, pitchers, mugs, and vases, including various face jugs/forms.  Most recently, I have started a series of devil face forms that include a statement or folk saying about the devil.  These phrases/quotes are inspired from area church signs, song lyrics, or sermons.  -Stephen Harrison

Thispiece is 23" tall with a 8" base. Notice the detail decorative touches to the piece. Each of the 5 noses has a pair of lips.
